All for Health, Health for All, Inc. (AFH) has provided health services to the medically underserved and indigent community for over 40 years. AFH is a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center and certified Patient-Centered Medical Home whose mission is to eliminate disparities in access to health care for the underserved multi-ethnic diverse population of Los Angeles and San Luis Obispo counties. AFH’s services encompass general family practice, pediatric care, mental health, and behavioral health services as well as adult day health care services. We have served over 21,000 patients last year with over 81,000 visits across a dozen clinic locations. Compensation:$18 - $23 hourly
Responsibilities: Preparation of exam roomsAssisting the provider with proceduresCollection and maintenance of accurate, legible patient documents including patient history, triage, and handling of patient phone calls in compliance with state laws and regulations governing the legal scope of practice of medical assistantsCleaning and restocking exam roomsCleaning and sterilization of equipmentNotification of lab results, imaging results, and medication refills to patients by phoneCoordination of careParticipation in training and quality improvement activities, and compliance with policies and guidelinesParticipation in pre-visit planning and regular team huddle ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on referrals to promote team awareness and ensure patient safety and satisfactionMaintain ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on referrals to promote team awareness and ensure patient safety and satisfaction.Ensure complete and accurate registration, including verification of demographic and current insurance informationAssemble information concerning the patient’s clinical background and referral needsContact review organizations and insurance companies to ensure prior approval requirements are metReview details and expectations about the referral with patientsAssists patients in problem-solving potential issues related to the health care system, problems with insurance coverage, or social barriers such as interpretation or transportation needsIdentify and utilize community and cultural resources suited to patient populationsEnsure referrals are addressed in a timely manner.Must demonstrate integrity, sound judgment, demonstrated leadership skills, and strong interpersonal skills.Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Proof of acceptable and appropriate training as deemed by the Medical Board of CaliforniaExceptional human relations skillsPediatric ExperienceAbility and willingness to work with people regardless of age, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or disease stateAbility to maintain a friendly attitude with patients and staff, especially under pressureAble to manage multiple prioritiesAbility to speak, understand, write, and type English as well as having basic math and spelling skillsExperience a minimum of 3 yearsExperience with ICD-10 codes and EMR SystemBilingual in Spanish About CompanyAll for Health, Health for All, Inc.
